Sometimes, no matter how hard we work or how many pennies we've pinched, we're still left with a defecit. We shop at Wal Mart almost exclusively – I make our own baby wipes, our laundry detergent and even our bread… I haven't gotten my hair cut in well over a year. My husband cuts his own!! Even with running a defecit, we are blessed and lucky to have the lives… more

I would think nothing of dropping a couple hundred on a new dress and shoes – or buying a new purple bracelet to match a date outfit. These expenses added up – and eventually… more

by Hannah Walton aka The Cheapskate Mom Ten Things Money Just Can't Buy In this day and age, we are bombarded by images of McMansions, designer clothing, gourmet meals, fancy vacations, sports utility vehicles, botox and even surgically "enchanced" bodies. The overall idea is you can't be happy until you acquire the next best thing. I have had a lot of money in my young life due to an… more
Cheapskate Clothing Ideas

by Hannah Walton aka The Cheapskate Mom I may be a cheapskate , but I don't live under a rock. I care (too much) about clothing and fashion – and though I've had to say goodbye to my department store shopping days – I haven't said goodbye to being stylish. I read fashion magazines and sites like weardrobe to stay up to date with current trends – and then I… more
