Make Coffee Lotion and a Matching Lotion Dispenser


 

As you may know from my Facebook update- I had a super long day yesterday (my son is teething and I think I'm going to lose a tooth nooooooo) so I felt like having a special treat. My husband bought me my favorite – a skinny vanilla latte from Starbucks yay! – and afterwards I was about to throw out the cup when I had a brainstorm. I had an empty lotion dispenser from another project – and some plain lotion from the dollar store….. So what did I create?

A lotion dispenser made from a cold grande Starbucks cup and a lotion pump `: it looks super cute! It was so , so easy to make : I simply put the pump through the straw hole in the lid and cut the bottom of the pump to size. Then I filled the cup with lotion and put the lid/pump on top. DONE. I think this project would make a wonderful gift for the coffee lovers in my life (like my mom and sister). Plus, it's a great excuse to treat myself to my favorite Skinny Vanilla Latte !

To make the coffee lotion, I simply took a bottle of plain lotion and added a little bit of coffee to color it and make it ever so slightly scented. You ladies on a slightly bigger budget than me could pick up coffee scented oil or something like that to add to it for a stronger scent. It works great and I like how my skin smells a little bit like coffee after … plus, I've heard that caffienated lotions can do wonders for cellulite – and since I'm a new mom , I need all the help I can get :)

First, fill up Starbucks cold grande cup with lotion


Add a little bit o' coffee to the cup – but don't add too much or it will get watery (a couple tablespoons should do it)

Dump contents of cup into a mixing bowl and mix your heart out.

Dump contents of bowl back into the cup & put lotion pump through straw hole in lid.

Put lid on cup

Enjoy your Starbucks Theme Coffee Lotion, Ladies :) What a great gift idea, huh?!

    wouldn’t it be easier to use a packet or two of instant coffee instead of brewed? then you could make the scent stronger without worrying about the lotion getting watered down. I tried it myself, it works great. Just make sure the lotion is a little warm so it mixes well. Smells great and it didn’t stain my skin at all!
