Ah, summer : baseball, swimming, hot dogs (in my case veggie dogs),  boilerplate novels, lawn chairs, parades, and no school. What's a mom on a budget to do when the kids are bored with their usual summer haunts and want something new to do? If you don't have easy access to a pool, lake or the ocean – it's still possible for the kids to cool off for almost nothing if you have a hose and a soda bottle. Yes, really.
