 INSTAGRAM YOUR WEDDING:
Wedding Photography On The Cheap

Hi Friends!! I'm excited to talk to y'all about this super cheap & fun alternative to providing wedding guests with those tacky looking disposable cameras or perhaps even, a cheap/ free alternative to a very expensive wedding photographer. Use Instagram as your wedding photographer, or back-up photographer, and don't miss a moment of your special day. Here's the 411 on how to Instagram Your Wedding Photography On The Cheap!

What Is Instagram, Anyway?

OMG….I love Instagram so, so much. It's seriously my favorite thing ever. Ok – you may be wondering, what the heck is Instagram anyway?

Instagram is an online social network and photo sharing app that lets users take photos, edit them and share them with other users or Facebook, all with the ease of a smartphone. Think of Instagram as being the new, and virtual, polaroid camera – and you get the idea.

One of the things I love most about Instagram is that you can categorize/tag Instagram photos by using a special hashtag that you come up with or that someone else already did. Here's an example – you take a photo of Jasper Springs State Park. You upload it to Instagram and you can then tag your photo #jasperspringsstatepark . That means that, depending upon your privacy settings, any Instagram user who searches for "Jasper Springs State Park" will see your photo. Pretty cool, right? The Cheapskate Mom thinks so!!

So, How Can I Marry Instagram To My Wedding??

Start By Coming Up With A Unique #Hashtag for Your Wedding ….
Use Instagram to double check that the hashtag you come up with is unique. Some examples of
unique hash tags for weddings are #jenandalex51113 (to include the wedding date) or something a bit more quirky like #kenandmandysayido - get creative in picking a fun hashtag that's easy for ahem…slightly intoxicated….guests to remember :)

Don't Forget To Tell Your Guests About It
So…you've got great plans to Instagram Your Wedding…. but no one knows about it? Be sure to tell your guests you want them to help record your special day with Instagram.
Here's a free printable for you to use to tell your guests to get on instagram!!

Print Your Photos
The one problem with Instagram photos is that, similar to polaroid pics, the picture quality just ain't great. If you can deal with that, get your instagram wedding photos developed at Prinstagram - or even Walgreens Photo Center (just choose page layouts with smaller images so that the tiny instagram photos come out nicely).

Cute idea! I’d still want some pseudo professional prints though, just because of the quality you were talking about. I had an aspiring photographer friend do mine. She was great and didn’t have to buy a gift that way. :)
