Yes – a whole pot of coffee…..I'm ashamed to admit. I know that this is  – rather – unhealthy of me – but I think there are probably worse things I could be drinking ….. right?  Any who, every day, I throw my coffee grounds away and I wonder – could I be reusing these in some way ? ?

This morning, while drinking my 5th cup o' joe (black with no sugar might I add…. yeah, I'm that much of a caffeine freak!), I got around to googling what you can do with old coffee grounds. It doesn't matter what kind of coffee maker you have – I actually use pre-ground or use my coffee grinder to make coffee… Even folks who use the K Cup coffee maker could reuse their grounds. I found this helpful article .

My favorite ideas from the article are :

  • Boiling water and coffee grounds to get rid of funky kitchen drain odors… Since I do a lot of cooking, and a lot of cooking with onions and garlic (love Italian food), this could be a very good thing for the olfactory. I will let you know how it works out later!
  • Massage some coffee through your hair while washing for shine…. I will DEF. be trying this as my hair is thin and dry – and getting thinner and dryer by the day now that I am ten weeks postpartum!!
  • Apparently dried coffee grounds in your shoes takes the odor away. hmmmmm – seems like a lot of work when baking soda does the trick – but….. it's free.

Seems like coffee grounds are a good all around deodorizer – which makes me wonder if they could work wonders on the diaper pail? I will have to try it

Oh my, this had me thinking about the time I tried a homemade cellulite treatment – believe it or not, I used coffee grounds and olive oil as a scrub, messy, but they say it works. I didn’t keep up with it because I felt crazy! LOL

I’ve never heard of that – but that’s awesome! I know that they use coffee a lot a spas so it makes total sense…. Frugal and luxurious !!Thanks for sharing!

We save coffee grounds for my husbands boss who uses them in his flower beds and around the trunks of his baby trees. He says it keeps worms out of the trees. I would love to use them for something else, but my question is how do you keep them from getting moldy?
