Reusable Paper Towels : Cheap !

I love my eco-friendly reusable bags…now i love my recycled and reusable paper towels too!
UncommonGoods

A few months ago, I started thinking about how we were wasting money on paper. Paper towels to be exact. We have to lug the awkward shaped 8-pack package across a parking lot and up three flights of stairs…just to, err, well – throw them out. Yikes.
I'm ashamed to admit just how much time I've spent thinking about how wasteful paper towels are.

I started a drawer in my kitchen for rags. I have about ten old rags and this works just fine for me for the moment. I wash them in the washer with a little bit of dish soap (to degrease them … but for safety's sake, don't try to pick up cooking oils with reusable kitchen rags as that could cause a dryer fire – haha I rhymed!). The one thing I noticed is that it was getting a little messy looking with random used rags hanging out on the countertop – so I literally found a mini laundry hamper and put it on the floor right next to the garbage bin. It looks so much neater already.

I do have a confession – despite the waste, despite how pretty great reusable rags are – sometimes nothing works like a paper towel. We still keep a couple rolls on hand "just in case" all of our rags were dirty or we spill oil.

Here is a link to pretty, well designed paper towels you can buy: So, will someone please SEW this for me? It's SO PRETTY.
