Uncommon Goods Review

My grandfather was an engineer for Fuller Brush – an old timey company, similar to Uncommon Goods, that sold odd and useful innovations – and maybe because of that I have always had an affinity for offbeat products – and as a little girl my favorite reading material was the J. Peterman catalog and Lillion Vernon! I also love anything handmade by artists and independent inventors. Uncommon Goods is the perfect company for me : they sell handmade and uncommon goods by artists near and far.

I was thrilled to do a review for Uncommon Goods – and it took me FOREVER to pick something from their INCREDIBLE selection. I will now be a regular Uncommon Goods customer – both because I am in love with their products and because I love supporting small companies, inventors and artists.

Favorite Items
I have to share some of my favorite items I came across when picking an item to review :) Their awesome card cases and wallets are amazing and would make an awesome gift for Father's Day! For the bicyclist in your life, they have an awesome card case style wallet made out of a recycled bike tube … awesome.

I love the durability and look of pewter everything and so I love Uncommon Goods' pewter section – I also love coffee. Therefore, I am madly in love with this heart shaped pewter coffee scoop – it's handmade in Massachusetts and very retro chic. Love it.

My husband is a huge baseball fan – so of course I had to check out their totally awesome baseball gifts for super fans. Oh my gosh – Uncommon Goods is your go-to gift destination for the baseball fan in your life : I heart this home plate door mat- for only $22.00 it's a total Father's Day steal.

My Review
For my review, I knew I wanted something totally unique for my son's room – and browsing through their awesome kids decor I fell madly in love with this woodland themed wooden owl clock – it's handmade in a Massachusetts shop by an independent industrial designer and it is GORGEOUS. It is really well made – you can see the difference between buying something that has been mass-manufactured and something made with care. I love how natural looking this clock is : it's painted but you can still see the wood grain peeping through. My new clock is elegant for a fun yet understated look. The shipping was fast and the customer service was – well… uncommonly good :)

Buy It:
My new wooden owl clock retails for $40.00 at Uncommon Goods – an awesome price for the quality and style value. If you are looking for an uncommon baby shower gift, this is absolutely it.
