make bars of soap last longer

Once upon a time … i splurged on shower gel. oh, those luxurious shower gel days…. someday soon….
now, with much greater budget constrictions, I’m a bar soap girl (scented bath soaps actually). And one thing about bar soap that really bugs me is when the soap gets too small and is rendered useless! I had a really nice bar of handmade soap that was given to me as a gift – it broke off and I had to throw out the little bits! I was so sad…what a waste (and I hate wasting things….). You may want to check out this quick read I found all about ways to save hard soap.
I’d read about soap savers before. Today, I found a mesh bag and put my small bit of soap in it. I will keep adding to it and I’m sure I’ll save a few bucks a year that way. I mean, hey – that equals a starbucks latte I can splurge on, right?

photo of my very exciting – haha – mesh soap saver bag….
Here’s are a few Toots (tutorial) I found all about how you too can join the soap saver club if you’re daring enough to try!
- Do you knit? This one is super cute. I, of course, don’t knit…. (man, I need more home skillz).
- if you eat a lot of onions – this is a super easy toot.
- cute youtube video project – looks fairly straightforward.
ok – I don’t condone spending money to save money usually, but here’s a link to a cute one the container store sells
Cheers!
