DIY Gym Bag on the Cheap
I've started going to the gym and taking free yoga classes again to get back into shape. It's been difficult but it feels great to start to see my body change – and to feel my lungs take deeper breaths and be able to handle the stairs better.
I've been using an upcycled reusable grocery bag for my gym bag - but to be honest – I found myself considering the idea of buying a cheap gym bag because I really like storage pockets to put all of my gym / yoga stuff – a place for a towel, a place for water , a place for lotion, etc…. I've even seen guys at the gym with fabric tool bags – and that seemed like an awesome idea … but so not chic. Another less stylish but useful idea would be to use an old bowling bag, a boat bag, or you could even make your own yoga bag if you're crafty enough (i'm not).
I was sitting around watching tv unwinding last night , next to our diaper bag , when it occured to me :
the diaper bag is a perfect and cheap yoga or gym bag!
So…. I gave this diaper bag turned yoga/gym bag idea a whirl !
I was able to put a snack, water bottle, spare clothes, ipod, shower supplies and more easily into the bag … awesome!
Using the diaper bag's stroller hooks , I easily connected the yoga mat to the bag for perfect yoga mat storage.
I'm so happy with my new yoga gym bag and I think I even caught a few jealous glimpses in the locker room today
!
